Bus Travel Atlanta Georgia

Over the last few years, Atlanta has quickly been recognized as one of the most vibrant cultural meccas on the east coast. Complete with fabulous art, food, music, and history, one could easily spend an entire week vacationing in A-Town and still not have seen it all. If Atlanta is on your radar, we’ll show you a few things you can see and do on your bus trip to this historic Georgian city.

Shop at a Year-Round Farmers Market

Even in the dead of winter, you can find a sprawling display of fresh produce and artisanal goods at an Atlanta farmers market. One of the best and biggest is the Peachtree Road Farmers Market. If you’re heading there in the morning, you can’t skip out on a savory breakfast sandwich from Farm Burger. Following a hearty meal, pick up some colorful radishes, tasty mushrooms, and fresh snow peas before stopping off at the Little Tart Bakery to pick up some fruity desserts for your ride home. Other area farmers markets worth mentioning include the Grant Park Farmers Market, Morningside Farmers Market, and Freedom Farmers Market. At the Grant Park Farmers Market, you’ll be able to see local chefs show off their cooking skills before sampling their sweet and savory creations.

Orchestrate an Artsy Photo Shoot with all of Atlanta’s Murals

Whether you want to turn up your selfie game a notch or you just appreciate stunning street art, planning a couple hours to explore the city’s murals is time well spent. Familiarize yourself with the psychedelic art of Greg Mike and see if you can spot his work all over the city. Keep your eyes peeled for his wild colors that are housed on the 8Arm and Midtown buildings.

Treat Yourself to a Ritzy Night Out at The Fox Theater

The incredible, opulent Fox Theater is easily the most magnificently beautiful theater in Atlanta and your vacation to the city wouldn’t be the same without at evening there. You have the option to either take a 60-minute educational tour of the former movie palace to learn of its rich history or attend a performing arts event (or both!). If you’re planning on attending an event at The Fox Theater, you’ll find it hosts everything from music concerts with famous touring artists to ballet performances to movie nights with kid-friendly films.

Spend the Day in Centennial Park and Ride the SkyView Atlanta

Head over to Centennial Park to climb aboard the 20-story Ferris wheel, SkyView Atlanta for an unparalleled, panoramic view of the downtown area. Unlike traditional Ferris wheels, the Atlantic SkyView ride comes with climate-controlled gondolas for a more luxurious experience. And if you’re willing to shell out a few extra bucks, you can enjoy VIP treatment with extra riding time, glass floors, and ultra-comfy, cushioned seating. After your breathtaking ride, you can explore the rest of the 21-acre Centennial Park by going on a guided walking tour, grabbing a juicy burger at Googie Burger, and catching some tunes at the free Music at Noon event happening every week in the park.

Explore the Inner Workings of CNN Studios

Get a behind-the-scenes look at everything happening inside one of the biggest news networks in the world by going on a 50-minute guided tour of the CNN Studios. You’ll get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see live newsrooms, meet TV anchors and news personalities, and visit the other rooms within this massive building to see how the news is broadcast. This is a great tour for political junkies or young, aspiring journalists who want a taste of what the news world is like.

Get Acquainted with all of the Amazing Atlanta Eateries

What is a vacation without a smorgasbord of mouth-watering eats? Fortunately, Atlanta lacks nothing when it comes to food. Aside from classic southern cooking (which you’ll obviously need to try while you’re in Atlanta) the city is home to virtually every kind of international cuisine there is. Craving Malaysian? Head to Mamak, located on Buford Highway. Interested in Ethiopian? You have to go to Desta Ethiopian Kitchen. Can’t get your mind off trying food with some Latin flair? Treat yourself to Puerto Rican dishes at Porch Light Latin Kitchen. And of course, you’ll have to check out at least one BBQ hotspot before leaving Atlanta. Some of the most beloved Southern restaurants include Fat Matt’s Rib Shack and Heirloom Market BBQ, a fusion restaurant that combines Southern and Asian flavors.

What are you waiting for? Grab your bus tickets and get ready for an Atlanta vacation filled with good food, music, and entertainment!
